| | Born in Omaha, NE on Sept. 8, 1907. Nicholson appears to have settled in Berkeley, CA in the 1930s. He was a pupil of Hans Hofmann, Worth Ryder and Ray Boynton at UC. During the Depression he was active in the San Francisco Bay area as an employee of the Federal Art Project. He later did artwork for Schlage Lock and the Safeway Stores. Nicholson died in Berkeley on Jan. 11, 1975. Exh: SFAA, 1938; GGIE, 1939.
