A painter, muralist, illustrator and print maker, Earl J. Neff figured prominently in the Depression era art of Cleveland, Ohio. From 1930 he began exhibiting his work at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and in 1937, he became the Director of that city's Works Progress Administration (W.P.A) Federal Arts Project*.
During this important decade Earl Neff was commissioned to paint public murals*, such as the History of United States Locomotives for Cleveland's Engineer's Building.& (showing 500 of 5083 characters). |
