Ed Noisecat began his career in lithography before switching to carving and sculpture that reflect Northwestern contemporary and traditional native influences.
Born in 1959 in the residential mission schoolhouse his mom was attending in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Noisecat is the oldest of seven brothers and sisters, most of whom still live on the Williams Lake reservation. His mother is of the Canim Lake Band of Shuswap Indians, his father from the Stlitlimx; both belong to the Sali (showing 500 of 2225 characters). |
