Frank Nosoff  1919-1996

Son of Morris and Minnie Nosoff, Frank Nosoff was born in Brooklyn and lived in New York City much of his life.  He attended the National Academy of Design* 1938 – 1940, the Art Students League* 1943 - 44, and the Art Career School of New York 1953 - 56.  On his WWII enlistment registration form (1941) he listed himself as single, with his occupation shown as an artist, sculptor and teacher of art. 

Nosoff exhibited with the Painters & Sculptors Society; the American Watercolor Society* Traveling Show, 1968; L’Exposition Intercontinentale Traveling Show, 1968; the National Society of Painters in Casein*, New York, 1971 – 74; and the American Veterans Society of Artists, New York, 1974. 

Awards included the Atkins Cash Award, 1972; the Simmons Award at the American Veterans Society of Artists, 1974; and the Grumbacher Award*, 1977.  He was noted as working with oils and casein.  Around 1986, in retirement, he moved to Florida and died in Fort Lauderdale on November 2, 1996.
