This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Hedvig Norskov was born in September 1890 in Nebraska. Her mother Marie (Mary) was born in Sweden and father Nels was born in Denmark. In October 1895 son Walter was born. My wife's mother and her mother knew and were friends with Hedvig and we actually have a photograph of her and her brother as children. We have a painting by Hedvig dated 1913 and is of a pretty lady wearing a big bonnet with a big blue bow and ribbon and she is holding a bouquet of purple flowers. Einer Loldahl was Hedvig's cousin who had come to live with her parents as a boy. My mother-in-law told of how Hedvig held the paint brush in her teeth and painted. I do not know how she lost or did not have the use of her arms. Her brother Walter did not survive childhood.
