Biography from Timmons Galleries:
Los Angeles born Paper Sculptor Jeff Nishinaka works in a unique 3-D representational art form.

Following graduation in 1982 from The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, with a BA in Fine Arts and illustration, Jeff has been engaged (commissioned in some cases) to create sculptures for private collectors, respected publishers, and media giants.

He has also received commissions from his alma mater, The Art Center College of Design, Playboy Publications, VISA, 20th Century Fox, Hewlett-Packard, a children’s book for Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, a private collection for Jackie Chan, and a 20’x 20’x 10’ commemorative anniversary installation for the lobby of the ANA hotel Tokyo in Japan.

In 1992 Jeff receivedved an award from the Dimensional Illustrators Show in New York for that particular illustration.  His most recent endeavors include solo exhibitions in Tokyo at Galleria Prova and at the Palace Hohenems in Austria, a commemorative CD-rom featuring his sculptures, and a teaching position at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, California.

Of the artist, Jackie Chan said: “Jeff’s unique artistry comes to life in his three-dimensional paper sculptors.  As the owner of several of his creations, I am very impressed with intricacy and quality of his work.  To experience the beauty and magic of his sculptures, an opportunity to view one of his shows should not be missed.  I wish him continued success and am looking forward to his next venture.”
