A painter and creator of large scale outdoor sculptures, reliefs, and fountains, Naylor taught at Florida Southern College from 1967 to 1969, and served as professor of art at the University of Florida from 1969 on.
Born in 1928 in England, he studied in his native country at Leeds College and then at Hornsey College of Art. In the U.S. he continued his education at the University of Illinois, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree.
