| A Chicago Native, Kenneth George Nack received his master's degree in
fine arts at the Art Institute in 1949, after which he traveled
extensively before settling in California. Directly after graduation he
moved to Paris to study with Fernand Leger.
LIFE magazine named one of America's best young painters in
1950. He traveled throughout Mexico and Europe, and eventually
ran a gallery in San Francisco before moving to Santa Barbara to
teach. He was the Chair of the art department at Santa Barbara
City College for 35 years, retiring in 2003 at the age of 80. |

| Ken is 80 years old and making art every day. Nack received his master's degree in fine arts from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1948 and studied and worked throughout his career in Paris. Nack's work is a combination of collage and mixed media.
