Margaret Graeme Niven was born on the 9th May 1906 to William Niven and Eliza Mary Heffer. Margaret was a half sister to William Edward Graham Niven, the father of David Niven, the film star."

As David was only 4 years younger than Margaret they were brought up almost like brother and sister. Both their fathers died when they were young. David was five and Margaret was 15 so consequently they were unaware of their ancestry. In fact the Niven Family originated from Perth and several are buried in Greyfriars Churchyard.

Margaret's grandfather and David's great grandfather, David Graham Niven, a Surgeon, came south and settled in Pershore, Worcestershire.

Margaret died in April 1997.

Submitted by Gordon Niven, who wrote: "I am no connection to this family - however the information about Margaret and David being brought up "together" came from Margaret when I spoke and corresponded with her in 1984. The spelling of Graham as Graeme in Margaret's name is accurate despite all the known ancestors in their family being "Grahams".
