| | Born in London, England on May 19, 1860. Nugent studied with Carroll Beckwith at the ASL in NYC, Thomas Eakins at PAFA, Boulanger and Lefebvre at Académie Julian in Paris. Early in the century he was an illustrator for Harpers, Century, and Ladies Home Journal.
