Naoto Nakagawa (1944-)

Born in Kobe, Japan in 1944, he immigrated to New York City in 1962.  Nakagawa developed a modernist style, ranging from Pop Art to hyper-realist.  In the 1970s, he moved to Vermont, and his work began to reflect his studies of nature.  He states: " Nature has been my subject for a long time.  In my early work I painted man-made objects.  After emigrating to the United States from Japan in 1962 at the age of 18, I became fascinated by the ab (showing 500 of 15378 characters).
