Nodjoumi paints mostly monumental allegories mixing opaque symbolism
and surrealism. His characters range from Mullahs in turbans and
flowing robes to Western bureaucrats in ill fitting suits. His medium
is mostly acrylic on canvas and gouache on paper.
Nicky Nodjoumi was born in Teheran, Iran in 1942. He studied art at the Teheran University of Fine Arts (BA) From 1963-67. He also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York (1971-72) and got his MFA at the City (showing 500 of 1176 characters). |
