Oscar William Neebe (1923-2009)
Born in Chicago, Illinois, he studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as well as the Institute of Design (later part of the Illinois Institute of Technology). He began his career working as an illustrator for a couple of design studios but by the late 1940s, he struck out on his own taking design work from book and map illustrations to animation. He was a member of several arts groups, including the Artists' Guild of Chicago.
