| Little is known about her childhood except that she lived in
Philadelphia as a child with her minister father and uncle, Thomas
Natt, painter and lithographer. Her formal art study began at the
Philadelphia School of Design for Women. From 1876 to 1879, she studied
with Thomas Eakins at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She then
spent two years in Paris and Florence, Italy and then studied etching
with Stephen Parrish. She exhibited in the 1881 and 1898 Paris S (showing 500 of 1339 characters). |
