| | Born in Jacksonville, OR on June 6, 1861. Rebecca wed Wm W. Nickerson at an early age. She taught art to the Indians in government schools in Oregon and Idaho, as well as the Eskimos in Alaska, prior to settling in Fresno, CA in 1925. Active in the local art scene, she painted scenes of northern California in oil and watercolor. She was also a writer and a member of the League of Western Writers. Mrs. Nickerson died in Fresno on Oct. 15, 1941.
