Rosalie Nadeau is a contemporary artist working out of Orleans, MA on Cape Cod. Ms. Nadeau received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1970. She is equally facile with oils and pastels. A master plein air painter, her representational paintings are influenced by both Realist and Impressionist traditions.
She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, the Connecticut Pastel Society and the Pastel Painters of Cape Cod. She paints and exhibits with the "21 in Truro" and the Cape Cod Plein Air Painters. She is a popular teacher at workshops and holds memberships at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Cape Cod and Provincetown Art Associations among many others.
Her work has garnered numerous awards including the Cahoon Museum of American Art and the Pastel Society of America to name a few. Her paintings have been used in 4 internationally distributed books, and she was featured in articles in the American Artist, Oct 1992; Cape Cod Life in 1994,1996, June 2001 and Apr 2003.
Her paintings are in the permanent collection of the Cape Museum of Fine Arts, the offices of Hale and Dorr, Liberty Mutual, F.Schumacher in N.Y. and the Cape Cod five Cents Savings Bank in addition to many private collections nationwide and abroad.
