A resident Taos painter, Tom Noble creates colorful landscapes in wet watercolor, many of them whimsical such as "Abstract Expressionist "Unidentified Flying Objects." His work is known for bright colors thickly applied, and his choice of colors have been influenced by the Hispanics with whom he grew up in Taos.
His grandfather went to Taos in 1898, and his mother arrived in 1934 to study with Andrew Dasburg. As a child, Noble was around the modernist artists who gave lessons at the Harwo (showing 500 of 1327 characters). |
