| Tuan Nguyen was born in Saigon in 1963. After the fall of South Vietnam, Tuan was jailed by the communist regime for one year. He later escaped to Cambodia and then to Thailand where he spent close to a year in a refugee camp. In 1988 he came the United States and studied at the Art Institute of Southern California (1991-1995).
Nguyen's sculpture of an American soldier and a South Vietnamese soldier is in the Sid Goldstein Freedom Park in Westminster, California.
