| Born in California on April 4, 1910. While a resident of Pasadena in the 1930s, Nightingale fulfilled mural and sculpture commissions for the Public Works of Art Project. He was a resident of Sierra Madre until 1946. He died in Coos Bay, OR on Dec. 22, 2006.
