Born in Gardiner, Maine, he was a sculptor and painter whose memorial sculptures are at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Newport, Rhode Island. In New York City, he did a memorial sculpture to Bishop Phillips Brooks in the Church of the Incarnation and a portrait bust of General Potter at the Chamber of Commerce.
