| Born in Gardiner, Maine, he was a sculptor and painter whose memorial sculptures are at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Newport, Rhode Island. In New York City, he did a memorial sculpture to Bishop Phillips Brooks in the Church of the Incarnation and a portrait bust of General Potter at the Chamber of Commerce. In 1925, he designed gold and silver money for Guatamala and for Panama in 1930 to 1931.
He was a student in London of Horatio Greenough, Lorado Taft, and James Pierce and was a member of the National Sculpture Society and the National Arts Club.
