One of Sweden's female artists who chose to express herself in Abstract Expressionist paintings of strong colors and mixed media, Britt Olofsson creates paintings reflective of her positive attitude and and her own love of life. She is also a writer including a series of plays and published poems.
Olofsson grew up in the west coast of Sweden, in a family where her father was highly creative as a photographer and painter. Therefore she was raised to explore her talents since childhood.
At age twenty, she went to Gothenburg to study public relations and modern art for two years at the University of Gothenburg. Two years later she was working as a creative photographer.
In 1989, she decided her life needed a change of scenery, and went to Larnaca Cyprus, where she opened her own Public Relations firm, BIO. ART, to support herself. At this time, she decided to explore her talents as a painter.
She started to sell some of her paintings in Stockholm, London, Athens,
and from 1995 in the United States. From 1995 to 1997, she lived in Coast Mesa, California and continues to visit and paint in that area. In 1997, she returned to Cyprus to live. |
