Born in Sandusky, Ohio and becoming a tenured professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, Catherine Opie is a photographer and installation artist. In 2008, her photographs were featured in a retrospective exhibition of her work at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
Themes of her artwork are the diversity of human existence and individuals' senses of belonging within the varying paths of life. Her realistic photography reflects her fascination with subcu (showing 500 of 1264 characters). |
