The following is the artist's obituary from the New York Times:
Doug Ohlson, Painter of Vivid Abstracts, Dies at 73 By Roberta Smith, published: July 23, 2010
It could be said that Doug Ohlson’s determination to be a painter came out of the blue. He was born in the middle of the Great Depression in Cherokee, Iowa, 50 miles east of the Missouri River. His father, a farmer and the son of a Swedish immigrant, expected his three sons to carry on the family tradition. (showing 500 of 3908 characters). |
