Landscape painter Doug Oliver was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1942. His early education consisted of exposure to the cultural life then available in the area, which for him was a focus on music because his parents were classically trained singers and active in choirs in their respective churches.
The family moved from the Midwest to California in 1954. The dramatic views of the western landscape made a significant impression on Oliver as a young boy, and he began to paint landscape images at (showing 500 of 1747 characters). |
