Edwin Louis Oman was born on August 25, 1905 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Albert and Michalina (Dybizbanska) Omankowski. At the time of the 1930 U.S. Census, he was living with his parents in Chicago and described himself as a "commercial artist".
In 1936, he had shortened his name and was working for Vogue Wright Studio in Chicago. About 1937, he met Eastman Boomer, later a theatrical producer, who later became his lifelong partner. By 1940, they moved to New (showing 500 of 1197 characters). |
