The following, submitted February 2005, is from the artist.
Born in Nome, Alaska in 1970 to a family rich in arctic culture and history, Elizabeth Osborne was inspired to tell stories through her large portrait paintings. "My Grandmother was the authority on Eskimo legends as well as the symbolic representations seen in the ceremonial costumes worn during storytelling events. I was surrounded by cultural expression and creativity from a very young age which gave me the love and apprec (showing 500 of 1898 characters). |
