The following, submitted August 2004, is from the artist.

Greg Orduyan (Grigoriy Nikolayevich Orduyan) was born into a hereditary artist family on April 3rd 1971 in the city of Moscow, Russia. However, his family originates from the North Caucasus area of Eurasian continent. According to a legend, the family founder was one of the rulers of ancient "Urartu Empire." Orduyan's father, grandfather and great-grandfather are well-known artists.

Having started making art at the age of three, Orduyan began his formal art education at the age of 7, after being accepted into "Moscow Art School". Although as an "Art School" pupil, he won juried competitions, he was never a "child prodigy" robbed of his childhood. In fact, he was a disobedient free spirited child, who grew into a rebellious teen with an adventurous soul.

After 10 years of "Art School", in 1988 Orduyan received the diploma of the Fine Artist and in the next few years participated in art shows. In 1989 he started work at "Central All Union TV" and at the same time entered "TV Animation Institute". In 1991, he became an Animator. While at "Animation Institute" and after graduation he participated in the creation of 4 (15 min long) animation films produced by "Union-Telefilm" studios, and these films have been awarded several prizes from participation in animation festivals of Russia and Europe.

In November 1991, despite a flourishing career as a artist and animator, Orduyan acted on a long dream and left for America. In New York City, he has exhibited his work while continuing to work as an Animator and also as a Computer Graphics Artist. During the winter of 1995 he invited to work as a Lead Artist for Konami, a Video Game Development company. There he was promoted to Art Director and then to a Creative Director position. While at "Konami" he took part in the creation of many Hit Video games including "BO9" and "Castelvania".

In May 2001 Greg started working for "SONY" as an Art Director. During all this time he continued to show his work in galleries in New York and the "Bay Area". In 2002 Greg was granted permanent residency in US.

Currently Greg Orduyan lives and works in Silicon Valley's city of Belmont. HIs work is in the Chechen-Ingush Republic Museum of Fine Arts
