| The younger sister of Georgia O'Keeffe, she painted throughout her life and exhibited infrequently in New York during the 1930s. She was primarily a nurse.
She studied art under Alon Bement at the University of Virginia summer school and earned an M.A. in Fine Arts from Columbia University Teacher's College in 1932. Alfred Stieglitz, married to Georgia, described Ida as "a blunt, active, robust woman who shared her older sister's love of the outdoors..." |
