A portrait, landscape and still-life painter, Joseph Oppenheimer was
born in Germany but lived much of his life in England and Canada.
He studied at the Munich Academy, and did numerous landscape paintings
in the area of Munich. However, his primary reputation was for
portraiture.
He traveled widely and briefly had a studio in New York City.
From 1900 to 1910, he lived in London and then moved to London in 1933 and
