| | Born in Fort Dodge, IA in 1870. Julie Haskell began painting as a child. Family demands prevented her from pursuing an art career until late in life. She studied with Henri de Kruif and Colin C. Cooper in Los Angeles and lived in San Diego for many years where she worked at the San Diego Academy of Art. By the early 1940s she had returned to Fort Dodge where she remained until her demise on Dec. 12, 1965. Member: La Jolla AA; Iowa Artists Club.
