Kitty O'Meallie (nee Kate Morrison Chamness) was born in Bennettsville, SC. Despite economic hardships, her father arranged for Kitty to attend Newcomb School of Fine Arts at Tulane University during the Depression era. She returned to Tulane for postgraduate study, during the latter half of the 1950s. She became established as a well-respected regional artist in New Orlean (showing 500 of 1347 characters). |
