Born in Woburn, Massachusetts, 1887, Lewis Osborne was a self-taught artist. He and his family moved to Los Angeles in 1901. As a young man, he worked for the "Los Angeles Herald" art department as an artist. During his tenure there, he received training at the Los Angeles School of Art and Design because of a deal the Herald made with the school. From the "Herald", he went to work in the art department of the Los Angeles Engraving Company.
Osborne was married in 1912 and raised a family, (showing 500 of 1892 characters). |
