This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Marcela Oyakawa, a native of Argentina, makes her home in Arizona. Her earthen murals are made of adobe applied to canvas on which she applies layers of mineral patinas. Her style has been described as both contemporary and similar to early prehistoric cave paintings.
Oyakawa has collaborated with fellow artist Ben Wright to create portraits which have been painted over her unique surfaces.
