| Born in Freeport near Sacramento, CA on Sept. 27, 1866. O'Toole began her art studies in Benicia followed by further study at the Crocker Gallery in Sacramento (1885) and at the San Francisco School of Design under Emil Carlsen. She later wed David Ahern who served both as Sacramento's sheriff and blacksmith. A lifelong resident of Sacramento, she died there on Feb. 26, 1954. Exh: Calif. State Fair, 1883-88.
