Paul Otero grew up in a orphanage in Denver, Colorado and then later at Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska.  He received his education at the University of Nebraska, Kearney.  He served in Vietnam.  He currently resides in Omaha.

Biography from Museum of Nebraska Art:
Paul Otero was born on August 8, 1950 in Denver, Colorado and received his BA from Kearney State College in 1977.  He was honorably discharged after serving in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971.

Otero currently resides in Omaha creating realistic drawings and paintings of figures. He is now practicing a new technique that resembles that of Botticelli's which mixes oil and tempora. Otero said he wants to capture "the essence, the feel, and the soul of an image".
