This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following biography is from Rich Densmore:

Ray Overpeck was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and is now residing in Telford, Pennsylvania. His formal training included studying at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. In more recent years he has attended numerous workshops with many different artists, both locally and in New England. The greatest influence on Overpeck has been the paintings of the French Impressionists Alfred Sisley and Camille Pissarro in addition to the Bucks County Impressionists.

Ray's greatest love is painting on location in any season of the year. He works in both watercolor and oils. Although Ray is fond of New England, he feels there is an endless source of painting material in the Bucks County area, and finds it to be his richest source of inspiration.

Ray has been accepted in juried exhibitions included Phillips Mill, Cape May County Art League and Perkiomen Valley Art Center. His awards have included "First Prize in Watercolor", at both the Allentown Arts Festival as well as at the Gallery in The Park, located in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. In addition, he was awarded, "Best of Show" from the Lansdale Art League.

Ray has had numerous One Man Shows.

Biography from Chapman Gallery:
Ray Overpeck lives in Bucks County, PA. His formal training included studying at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.

As a young boy he was always fond of drawing and during his early youth he was fascinated with the paintings of Walter Baum, which were displayed in the halls of his school. These paintings, and later works of the French Impressionists have always been an inspiration to him.

Through the years his work has evolved from painting in both oil and watercolor to eventually painting oils in an impressionistic style, which was his first love.

For a change of scene, Ray enjoys painting in Stonington, ME, but his greatest source of subject matter has always been Bucks County, and the surrounding areas. Ray's work has been shown in many group and juried shows. He has received many awards for his work, the most recent being the award for "Traditional Painting in the style of the New Hope School" at the 74th Phillips' Mill show.
