Artist Richard (Marsh) Ozanne was born in St. Louis Missouri 1959. The son of two prominent classical pianists, Ozan Marsh and Patricia Benkman, Ozanne began his studies of art at an early age in addition to the study of classical music (piano). Ozanne's family has had a long tradition in the arts.
Richard Ozanne earned his BFA at the University of Arizona (Tucson AZ) in 1982 followed by graduate work and private study with artists in (Europe) France, Alaska and Hawaii and New York.
His first major solo exhibit was in 1981 at the "Hall of Fame" Gallery at the University of Arizona Memorial Union.
Ozanne studied at the Art Students League in New York and also attended Columbia University Graduate School in progress towards a Masters Degree from 1982-1986.
Returning to Arizona, Mr. Ozanne earned his MFA Masters of Fine Arts Degree at Arizona State University in 1992.
In 1995 he toured Europe and around the world with his art visiting such countries as India, Kashmir, Thailand, and Indonesia. After completing his Ph.D research in 1997 in Arts and Humanities, Ozanne returned to Europe and maintained residence in Prague (Czech Republic) from 1996 until 2003 where he lived, exhibited and taught as lecturer the Faculty of Pedagogy and AMU Academy of Music and Art (Charles University) in the Czech Republic.
He is a Life Member of the Art Students League of New York.
