A Los Angeles conceptualist artist, he earned a prestigious reputation but showed his work only rarely during his lifetime and made his living as a graphic artist. From his death in 1993 from Hodgkin's Disease, several major exhibitions have established him a highly independent artist who experimented in many unique ways.
Many of his pieces are latex casts of architectural details from which he creates entire rooms. He was meticulous about detail, and created a self-published catalogue of (showing 500 of 709 characters). |
