Born in Cork, Ireland on April 21, 1868. Upon graduation from Stanislaus College in 1887, O'Brien came to San Francisco where he established a home at 2032 Baker. Using small brushstrokes and a colorful palette, he painted coastals and landscapes of the San Francisco Bay area.
