This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Married to artist Charles Woodbury with whom she first studied art, Susan Woodbury became noted for her figural works in pastel, watercolor and oil. She and her husband honeymooned in Europe in 1890, and she was especially taken with Holland, which became a source of many of her paintings including Dutch children. She returned there frequently, observed works by Old Masters, and wrote commentaries on Dutch painters. She also studied in Psaris at the Laxar School.

A year after her death at age 48, her husband organized a solo exhibition of her work at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
