| Primarily self taught, Will Ousley focused his painting on the countryside of southwestern Louisiana. He did have some professional training from Erasmus Humbrecht, an Alsatian artist who helped Ousley retouch murals in the French Quarter's St. Louis Cathedral in 1893.

| William or Will Ousley, American artist, painted with waterproof English oil on board. He painted mostly bayou scenes from his native Louisiana, in particular the Evangeline Oak and Ousley's Landing at Bagdad. He inscribed the back of the advertising boards in great detail. |
