This biography from the Archives of AskART:
A painter and sculptor, Abraham Palansky was born in Lodz, Poland on July 1 1890. He emigrated to the United States, first living in Chicago where he was a house painter by trade and fathered three children, two sons from his first marriage and a daughter from his second.

In Chicago, he studied at the School of the Art Institute and subsequently exhibited there in the 1940s, earning prizes in 1941 and 1945. He also exhibited at the Illinois State Museum, the No-Jury Society of Artists, the San Francisco Museum of Art, Pasadena Art Institute and the Los Angeles Museum of Art.

Shortly after the outbreak of WW II he moved to Los Angeles and was active there until his death in the mid 1950s.
