This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in San Diego, CA on Oct. 28, 1877. Annie Pierce was one of San Diego's first native painters. She studied art from childhood and was a protégée of Cora Timken Burnett. Her work includes portraits, landscapes, and floral still lifes in watercolor, oil, pastel, and block printing. She died in San Diego on Aug. 31, 1951. Member: San Diego AA (co-founder, 1904); San Diego Art Guild. Exh: San Diego AA, 1905; Sketch Club (SF), 1907; Panama-Calif. Int'l Expo (San Diego), 1916; San Diego FA Gallery, 1927, 1952 (retrospective); Calif.-Pacific Int'l Expo (San Diego), 1935.
