| Painter. Born in Cleveland, OH on July 27, 1861. Merwin studied at ASL in NYC, St Paul School of Fine Arts, and in Paris with Courtois, Collin, and Whistler. For several years she was a resident of Montclair, NJ before moving to California. She was active in Los Angeles from the 1920s until her death on June 13, 1941. Member: Calif. Art Club; Pasadena Society of Artists; San Diego Art Guild. Exh: Exposition Universelle (Paris), 1900; Calif. State Fair, 1930; Pasadena Art Institute, 1931. In: Cuyamaca Club (San Diego); Boston Art Club. SCA; AAW; AAA 1905-33; American Magazine of Art, 1927; WWAA 1936-41.
