| Carl Pfeufer grew up in New York and attended Cooper Union where he studied freehand drawing. After graduation, he worked in newspapers as a staff artist and eventually worked on 'Don Dixon and the Hidden Empire', 'Tad of the Tambark' and 'Gordon, Soldier of Fortune.' In the early 1940s, Pfeufer worked in comic books for Marvel and Fawcett. His credits include 'Ibis the Invincible', 'Commando Yank', 'Submariner', 'The Chisholm Kid' and 'Tom Mix'.
