| Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1852. Powell studied engraving under Timothy Cole and W. J. Linton, and further studied at the Cooper Union and NAD in NYC. She was employed as an engraver for Century Magazine in 1880-95, and was a resident of Boston and Cambridge, MA before moving to California in 1920. Powell lived in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and died in Yuba County, CA on April 17, 1935. Member: American Wood Engravers Society.
