This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Clark Kelley Price is a painter of western and religious subjects. He and his family of seven children live in Wyoming. As a child, he was raised in the log cabin in Idaho Falls that his parents had built, and surrounded by scenic views of nature, he developed a love for that subject matter.

Price has an Associate of Arts degree from Ricks College and a BA from Brigham Young University. He has painted full-time ever since 1973. Price has won awards from the Arts for the Parks program as well as the Wyoming Historical Society.

In October 2004 Clark Kelley Price was elected into membership of the Cowboy Artists of America, a group of western painters and sculptors who hold an annual exhibition at the Phoenix Art Museum.

Mill Pond Press; Art of the West, January/February 2005

Biography from Trailside Galleries:
Clark Kelley Price is a traditional oil painter of cowboys, wildlife, and the early Western trappers and Indians. In addition to being skilled in the physical aspects of drawing, composition, color sense and perspective, Clark brings to his paintings another more elusive ingredient: his feeling and dedication to the spirit of the Old West.

“Detail is relatively important to me, but is secondary to the 'mood.’ Life and circumstances create so many moods that captivate me.” Price is also fascinated by the way light and shadow patterns occur in various conditions in nature, challenging him to “capture the essence of it.”
