This biography from the Archives of AskART:
An early 20th century Iowa painter, Claude Patterson studied at the Cummings School of Art, Harvard and Columbia University, and the Philadelphia School of Design. He was a member of the Iowa Artists Club and exhibited at the Iowa Art Salon. He taught at the University of Illinois, University of Iowa, and Monmouth College in Illinois.
