| He was born at the army hospital in Ft. McHenry, Baltimore, MD in 1865. Peters studied at the Academie Julian in Paris, France, with Lefebvre and Boulanger from 1886 to 1888; at the Ecole des Beaux Arts with Gerome, and with Collin. At the age of 23 he was awarded a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889, where his older friend and mentor, John Singer Sargent took the gold. He also exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1888, 1889, and 1891. He exhibited at (showing 500 of 1400 characters). |
