Biography from Roger King Fine Art:
Delilah Pierce (1904-1992) was born in Washington D.C.  She studied at Howard University and Columbia University and taught art in Washington secondary schools. Active as both an artist and art educator, she was a member of several art societies including the Society of Washington Artists, the Artists Equity Association, and the National Conference of Artists.

Pierce worked primarily in oils and acrylics.  She exhibited in shows at Atlanta University, Howard University, the Smithsonian Institution, the Society of Washington Artists, the American Federation of Arts, the Twentieth Century Gallery in Williamsburg, the Martha's Vineyard Island shows, and the Corcoran Gallery.

Her work is in collections at Howard University, the Anacostia Museum, and the D.C. Teachers College. Delilah Pierce was awarded the Phi Delta Kappa Achievement Award for Outstanding Service and Achievement in Art and Art Education.
